Tracy Lawrence was innate around Atlanta, Texas and raised in Foreman, Arkansas. Lawrence played within his 1st band at a age of Xvi. Around 1990 Lawrence left Arkansas and went to Nashville, Tennessee.

Lawrence took jobs as an ironworker and in phone sales when he tried to break into a Nashville music scene. He began participating within talent shows & earned plenty money to live. Within 1991 he had a gig at the Bluebird Cafe and met Wayne Edwards who became his manager.

By having Edwards assistance Lawrence signed by having Atlantic Records and released his number one album Sticks and Stones. In 31 May 1991 Lawrence walked his former girlfriend to the door of her hotel room & was confronted by ternion armed men. A men robbed the two & attempted to inflict Lawrence & his friend into her motel room. Lawrence resisted & was shot fourfold, permitting his friend to escape.
